Television Schedules For The 1960-1961 Season

Prime Time Television Schedules For The 1960-1961 Season

There’s no better way to research the Sixties than by watching it unfold onscreen. See wardrobe options in motion, not just static pictures from old catalogs.  There will be another set of catalogs later this month, too, but this post continues our TV schedules to cover the complete 1960s decade.  Everyone knows at least one show from this season.  The Flintstones made their debut on Friday, September 30, 1960, at 8:30 p.m.  And just like now, from January to June of 1960, the Writers Guild of America was on strike, and that affected their schedule, too.

Our Vintage Prime Time Television Guide page is up!   It has already been updated once as we found Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom.  We’ve already got HeeHaw.  We just need Disney to release the Sunday night Disney series to achieve our childhood Sunday trifecta.  Put Glen Campbell’s Wichita Lineman on the record player and I’ll be in dreamland before the title song ends.  Expect a further update to that page this week as we add shows from the 1960-1961 season.

Stay groovy!

Sincerely,

Kate
